Jazmine Sullivan

JazmineJazmine was raised and born from Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. Her mother Pam is a former backup singer for Philadelphia International Records. At the age of five her father was selected to be City's Historic Strawberry Mansion curator. She and her family moved later to the historic mansion. She is a 2005 graduate of Philadelphia High School for the Creative and Performing Arts where she was an instructor of vocal music. Sullivan was a contralto singer for the youth choir, and after a couple of years later, she performed in the adult choir. His exposure to secular music was at first limited "I did solos at church . Someone wanted me to sign to the gospel label at age had turned eleven, however I wasn't prepared to sign that contract," she recalls. At that time, McDonald's held a contest with children from large cities. I was able to sing "Accept The Grace God Gives" in it's Showtime at the Apollo. And the people were very enthusiastic. When she was 13 years old, she sang alongside Stevie Wonder for his grandson's birthday. Sullivan was the first to sign her contract with Jive Records when she was fifteen. When she was 15, she was signed to Jive Records. She recorded an entire album in Jive Records. However, it didn't get released. Sullivan was then dropped from the record label. They had a strong working relationship along with Missy Elliott. Elliott produced numerous tracks for her which included "Backstabbers" the track that was produced by Timbaland.
