Maureen Denise McCormick - the youngest of Richard McCormick's children was born in Woodland Hills in 1956. Her father was an educator at school and her mother as an at-home mom. Michael Dennis, Kevin and Dennis are her three older brothers. McCormick started singing and performing in the early years of her life. In the year she turned six, McCormick was crowned at the Baby Miss San Fernando Valley competition. Pat Domigan from the Jack Wormser Agency then called McCormick to inquire if the actress would be looking to pursue a career in showbusiness. McCormick found her first role as a major actress in 1964. She starred in an advertisement for Mattels the newest doll baby Pattaburp. In the same year, she was featured in a second commercial on television for the doll Chatty Cathy. The following year, McCormick was chosen by La Jolla Playhouse to play the character of Wind It up and It breaks. The Brady Bunch McCormick's audition was one of 1200 children who auditioned for the role of the oldest towheaded girl in The Brady Bunch. The sitcom starred Florence Henderson and Robert Reed, newlyweds who had an unmarried family. It lasted five years. In her memoir Heres the Story: Surviving Marcia Brady and Finding My True Voice published in 2008 McCormick revealed that during the fifth season of the show, she was close to losing her virginity to her onscreen co-star and brother Barry Williams. The actress was just 16 years older and the actor 19, at the time. It was likely that we would have a romantic relationship, said she. The timing, however, wasn't the right time.
