Shay Mitchell is Canadian actress,model and businesswoman. Her most well-known role was as Emily Fields from the Freeform show Pretty Little Liars. After excelling at dance and modelling, she wanted to take on acting and started taking classes in acting in Toronto. Mitchell landed a few commercials, and guest appearances in a television show. Her big break occurred when she was chosen as Emily Fields. Fans and critics alike appreciated her acting. After that, she would be a celebrity on the big-screen with movies such as Dreamland Mother's Dayand The Possession of Hannah Grace. Her part in the thriller with a psychological theme "You" brought her more fame. Apart from actingShay Mitchell also delves into writing. She wrote a novel for adults titled Bliss together with Michaela Blaney. Shay Mitchell, born April 10, 1987 in Ontario, Canada, was raised by her parents Mark Mitchell, and Precious Garca. She's of Filipina origin, while her father is of Scottish/Irish heritage. Mitchell is also a cousin of Lea Salonga, a famed musical theater actress and singer. Mitchell attended Rockridge Secondary School before moving on to West Vancouver Secondary. She had already modeled around the world in her early teens. Following trips through Barcelona, Bangkok and Hong Kong she went back to Toronto, where she studied acting.
